Hello, my name is Lisa Baker. I am the team leader for our wonderful Special Education department!
2017-2018 is my first year at OME and I am excited to be here. I have had the privilege to meet great teachers, parents, and students from the OME community during my last 3 weeks of professional development, planning meetings, and "Meet the Teacher" events and look forward to meeting many more as the year proceeds.
This is my third year teaching in Manor ISD. Previously, I was assigned as the Instructional Coach at PME (2016-2017) and Reading Interventionist at SGE (2015-2016). This is my 23rd year of teaching. I have taught in Del Valle ISD, Austin ISD, and Bernalillo Public Schools (New Mexico) at the elementary school level.
I hold a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of New Mexico (Albuquerque). I am currently enrolled in the Rawson-Saunders Institute to become a National Certified Academic Language Therapist with expected completion in 2018.
The Special Education team at OME was recruited by Mr. Vega to help solidify the processes, strategy, and collaboration necessary to insure our students reach their target goals.
