The Missoula Children’s Theater partnered with the Manor ISD Fine Arts Department over the weekend to put on a performance of Alice in Wonderland, entertaining more than 300 parents and community members at Decker Elementary School.
Missoula Children’s Theater (MCT) is a touring troupe that enables theater in schools and venues across the U.S. and Canada. The play was performed by students from the three Manor ISD Fine Arts Academies—Decker Middle, Decker Elementary, and Oak Meadows Elementary—while MCT provided the script and costumes.
Students rehearsed daily in the week leading up to the performance, sometimes well into the evening. Students also memorized the script throughout the week in preparation for the performance.
MCT and Manor ISD Fine Arts did two performances Saturday, one for Manor ISD employees and one for Parents and Community Members.
The costs of the play were covered by a grant from Manor ISD partner Applied Materials as well.
Thank you to Missoula Children’s Theater and Applied Materials empowering our students through the arts!
